LEFT THE CITY BEHIND
Four big mud tires under this truck
Doing my best yeah, to get it stuck
A whole lot of horsepower under that hood
And my baby right here yeah, she sure feels good
No pavement for miles around
Gonna find us a clear-cut and power it down
Cause my baby likes riding through the creeks and the hills
Slinging up mud yeah, spinning those wheels
Popping open cans from a cooler of beer
Friday afternoon and the weekend’s here
Tired of work and I’m over the rush
Left the city behind in a cloud of dust
Stars coming out on a beautiful night
Building a fire and it all seems right
A blanket laid out at the top of a hill
Stars in my eyes from the way she feels
Just mother nature and the two of us
No phones, no horns, no bosses to fuss
Cause my baby likes riding through the creeks and the hills
Slinging up mud yeah, spinning those wheels
Popping open cans from a cooler of beer
Friday afternoon and the weekend’s here
Tired of work and I’m over the rush
Left the city behind in a cloud of dust
Skyscrapers out here are pine trees and oaks
Taxis don’t honk but the bullfrogs croak
And music it’s made in a natural way
Cricket’s and birds and coyote’s at play
And I wouldn’t change a single thing
We’ll be back in the truck if it begins to rain
Cause my baby likes riding through the creeks and the hills
Slinging up mud, yeah spinning those wheels
Popping open cans from a cooler of beer
Friday afternoon and the weekend’s here
Tired of work and I’m over the rush
Left the city behind in a cloud of dust
Yeah, tired of work and I’m over the rush
Left the city behind in a cloud of dust
