Finale… a poem

REFLECTION

I lost my mind… on a windy day…

It just blew, and blew, and blew until it finally blew away…

Scattered thoughts… across the ground…

Regrets and promises… of lost and found…

And I just sat…in disbelief…

As my thoughts took to the air flying high… my hopes and grief…

At first astonished… was I in wonder…

Staring blankly at the sky… reflective eyes upon this blunder…

Still here am I… on rich, green earth…

Seeking the solace I once had when mother gave me birth…

What will tomorrow… return in token…

Splendor of the good in me or all that has been broken…

How high ascended… will all this go…

Will the Jetstream carry off with it everything I know…

All these remnants… of a life gone by…

Now I see the reason of my plight… my time has come to die…
