WITHIN MY SOUL
Asunder waves upon the sea,
I walk beneath the sky.
Lost in pensive thought is me
The sudden urge to cry.
Beauty saturates my heart,
Adoration, just the start.
Captured in a passion let,
I reach to take the hand,
Of one not there, thus I forget,
Taken from this land.
Flooding memories rushing in,
I suffer loss of love again.
Jocund, but just moments prior,
Was this mere mortal tall.
Hence the words sung by church choir,
God loves us one and all.
Back to present day I stand,
Empty heart, empty hand.
Chastised, do my very best,
How can I hold inside?
Methinks my whole life did I invest,
These hearts that did collide.
The missing piece that made me whole,
Lives on forever, within my soul.
