THE PEACH
You are beautiful,
As your name implies.
Even the apple,
In someone’s eyes.
Brilliant your colors,
Alive and bright.
Like a sunset horizon,
Before the night.
And just like a puppy,
With the softest of fur.
Though you wear a scar,
You were never deterred.
A pit on the inside,
The rest of you treat.
Delicious, and juicy,
Unbelievably sweet.
Alas, though now,
Yours comes to an end.
So, into my mouth,
And to my tummy, descend.
