Sapphire Blue… a song

SAPPHIRE BLUE

Teenage love for a beautiful girl,

That first kiss, she remembers,

Her heart in a whirl.

Dancing so close at the prom…

Left standing alone,

When she turned – He was gone.

Now, her heart…is Sapphire blue…

Hardened and cold,

To the beauty in you…

Years in the making,

Then broken in two…

Sapphire, Sapphire blue-oo-oo…

Sapphire, Sapphire blue.

She made it through college,

Avoiding the scene.

Top of her class,

Fulfilling her dream.

And the job she was promised,

Dissolved in a blink.

Nowhere to turn,

No way to think.

Now, her heart…is Sapphire blue…

Hardened and cold,

To the beauty in you…

Years in the making,

Then broken in two…

Sapphire, Sapphire blue-oo-oo…

Sapphire, Sapphire blue.

The years slipped away,

Right before her eyes.

The call that she dreaded,

Like tears from the skies.

She just lost her daddy,

And now momma too.

Such is the life…

Of our Sapphire Blue…

And, her heart…is Sapphire blue…

Hardened and cold,

To the beauty in you…

Years in the making,

Then broken in two…

Sapphire, Sapphire blue-oo-oo…

Sapphire, Sapphire blue-oo-oo…

Sapphire, Sapphire blue…
