THE COLD
Caught out in the cold again
Lost and all alone my friend
Isn’t there a heart to take me in
Looking for the nearest flame
Hoping just to ease the pain
And frozen to the core should be a sin
Who will notice if I die
When no one knows that I’m alive
Maybe I would be much better off
In a world, of a world, for a world
Isn’t what we’re taught
Don’t you know that I can see
The way that you look down on me
Life you know was not always this way
Looking back over the years
Did I do the same and cause the tears
Just like the ones now running down my face
And I say…..
Who will notice if I die
When no one knows that I’m alive
Maybe I would be much better off
In a world, of a world, for a world
Isn’t what we’re taught
Trembling taking my last breath
Accepting not accepted yet
That maybe I will finally find my peace
Then I feel a hand on me
An angel’s touch and eyes that see
Helping me get back upon my feet
Then they say…..
I will notice if you die
I can see that you’re alive
And, no, you would not be better off
In a world, of a world, for a world
This is what we’re taught
In a world, of a world, for a world
This is what we’re taught
Caught out in the cold again
Lost and all alone my friend
Isn’t there a heart to take me in
