Mr. Grasshopper… a poem

GrasshopperMR. GRASSHOPPER

Why did you jump so high, Mr. Grasshopper?

Why did you jump so high?

The birds in the air are out to get you!

Why did you jump so high?

Please come back down to the ground, Mr. Grasshopper!

Please come back down to the ground!

You’ll be safe here under the bushes and trees.

Please come back down to the ground!

Don’t sing so loud up there, Mr. Grasshopper!

Don’t sing so loud up there!

The sound of your voice carries, oh, so far.

Don’t sing so loud up there!

That’s what I said to old Mr. Grasshopper.

That’s what I said, you see.

If you want to live a long, long life…

You had better listen to me!
