Counting Down the Days… a song

COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS

I pushed her on the swing

Until my arms were tired.

Pretty as a summer’s day

Sweet as any flower.

Just two more days of school

Then we’ll be free again.

To walk along the old dirt road

Where it all began… Yeah.

I’m counting down the days.

Yeah, I’m counting down the days…

Counting all the ways…

Counting on my love for you

To carry you away.

I’m counting on our dreams.

Oh, starting with these rings.

I’ll love you ‘til the very end

In so, so many ways.

Mmm… Counting down the days…

Summer seemed to last and last

I was working in the fields.

I didn’t get to see you much,

I was chasing ‘round that wheel.

But I had one thing on my mind

And it was sittin’ in the jewelry store.

Another week ‘til I pop the question

Another week before…

Yeah, I’m counting down the days…

Counting all the ways…

Counting on my love for you

To carry you away.

I’m counting on our dreams.

Oh, starting with these rings.

I’ll love you ‘til the very end

In so, so many ways.

Mmm… Counting down the days…

Life, it just goes by so fast

And the children are all gone.

But you’re still sitting next to me

And we’re back to on our own.

As we reminisce about

And the years, how they flew by.

Our son calls to tell us some beautiful news

There’ll be a baby in July…

And, we’re counting down the days…

Counting all the ways…

Counting on the love we shared

To carry them away.

We’ll be counting on our dreams.

Oh, it started with these rings.

I’ll love you ‘til the very end

In so, so many ways.

Counting down the days…

Yeah, I’m counting down the days…

Counting all the ways…

Counting on my love for you

To carry you away.

I’m counting on our dreams.

Oh, starting with these rings.

I’ll love you ‘til the very end

In so, so many ways.

Mmm… Counting down the days…

Mmm, mmm, counting down the days…

Mmm, mmm, counting down the days…

Mmm, mmm…
