My Inner Storm… a poem

MY INNER STORM

My life on a Ferris Wheel

Going around and around.

Sometimes I’m up!

Sometimes I’m down!

No picking or choosing

Which day it will be.

A constant reminder

Of this long-suffering.

The struggle is constant

A plague on my life.

Taking its toll

Slicing deep with its knife.

Roiling my insides

And knotting my guts.

A constant reminder

My life and my crutch.

Hastening back from a

Cold sweaty sleep.

Dipped in a nightmare

And left there to steep.

Maybe tomorrow

Will serve me some grace.

Reacquainting my soul

With a smile on my face.
