THE PRIZE… a very short story

Seamlessly, and silently she picked her way through the hedge.  Edging closer and closer to her goal.  That big, plump, juicy bird was in the bath and off its guard.  Now, after countless days of misadventure– she was close. Stealthily, she crept closer, closer, closer.  The water from the bath was splashing onto the leaves of the privet hedge where she made her approach.  Nothing would keep her from her prize.


“Here, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty!”

“Stupid human!”
