Into the void, I slowly slip
Deep-seated with doubt and despair
Oh, the toil that I know I will face
As it waits and waits for me unaware
Casting out confidences within me
Thought stilled in my routine
Edging close in the shadows nearer and nearer
Awaiting, to make me scream
Have I no self-control in this
Am I not steeled as man
Ever veiled the demon encroaches
Until he has me at hand
Fight the good fight day in and day out
Lest you find yourself heavy with dread
Trust that tomorrow you again find your strength
For the weakness will surely have fed
Sounds like the toil and snarl of self doubt lurking to bring you down when you feel confident. It’s a lurking shadow for sure that loves to try nag us into self-defeat.

Sounds good to me… I just tried to make up something that was at least subtly different than my norm. Ha… I liked the “old” poetry it portrayed to me. I dunno… 😊
