The last sunset to grace her eyes
Brought her tears of joy
This precious gift of life was ending
In this she had no choice
But, oh, what delight she knew
From childhood to old age
The seasons that she’d witnessed
Blessed throughout her days
***************
And as her loved ones gather ‘round
To pay their last respects
She smiles as each one kisses her
And hugs her around her neck
***************
A whisper, barely audible,
To bid them all goodbye
As her heart stops
And she smiles down
Above from where she flies
Heartwarming poem! 😊

Thank you! Sorry about the typo! It has been corrected… I had the word “on” instead of “one,” which my sweet wife pointed out. Ha
Thank you for stopping by…

What a beautiful poem about the end of life. Maybe the thought of death isn’t so fearful after all?

Thank you, Liz! It isn’t to me any longer after this dream I finally decided I should write about and share: https://wordpress.com/block-editor/post/whatwordsmaycome.com/16

Thank you, Winnie! Muses… I just realized, or think I just realized, that I always have women dying accept when I died in the dream I wrote about a long time ago. Hmmm… I need to be an equal opportunity writer with my deaths… What do you think? Actually, I may have written about a guy dying after his wife died and he rowed away in a boat. I don’t know! Crazy!

Thank you for sharing, Kevin! You write whatever you feel. You’re great with your poems. I would to read that poem you mentioned though. 😉
