It’s not the same anymore
Yes, the dry, Autumn leaves still crackle underfoot
And Mother Nature plays her lullaby to her children
But I have eyes with a different view these days
Lost are these walks, hand in hand with the one I love
Gone are the days of deep conversation
And sitting upon the sun-soaked boulder
The twilight years are truly upon me
And, I miss you more than ever
This used to be our afternoon walk
Yet, the light of your eyes once full of life see no more
And I am here to make my way – alone
You are always and forever in my heart
But, a heart that is heavy and broken
Until I see you again, my love, I will miss you

A bit of foreshadowing, Kevin. Deeply reflective and beautiful.
