FINAL PORTRAIT… a poem

Explosion, Glass, Buttons, Exploding

The shards of glass

Show sides of me

I don’t think I was ever meant to see

Memories of loved ones

Gone long ago

Haunt my mind like a salacious foe

Love and hate – empty and full

Reflecting the dark-side in this poor soul

two girls standing on seashore

Childhood kindness

Like holding hands

Whispering secrets

And making plans

Making love for the first time

Reflecting through tears

Lost in a world

That thrives on our fears

These are the final portraits I see

As life’s vital essence spills from me

Car Accident, Broken Glass, Splatter
