VACATION… a poem

At Dusk, Lagoon, Dugout Canoe
Vacation begins …

On this wintery day

A wind chill below zero

I’d rather be down south

Fishing from a pirogue

Catching some bass

Bluegill and trout

Warmed by the sun

All-day I’d be out

Instead, I’m held, hostage

Forever inside

Bring on the holidays

And to the beach with my bride

  1. I’ve lived in Hawaii, can tell ya it sure doesn’t feel like Christmas time over there when you’ve grown up in the east coast with snow and jackets! Nice poem!
