On this wintery day
A wind chill below zero
I’d rather be down south
Fishing from a pirogue
Catching some bass
Bluegill and trout
Warmed by the sun
All-day I’d be out
Instead, I’m held, hostage
Forever inside
Bring on the holidays
And to the beach with my bride
I’ve lived in Hawaii, can tell ya it sure doesn’t feel like Christmas time over there when you’ve grown up in the east coast with snow and jackets! Nice poem!

Indeed! My wife and I were born and raised on the gulf coast and now live in the Midwest. We are headed home for a week. Leaving on Sunday. Can’t wait!!! Thank you for popping in!!!

Have a good trip! I will stay here in snowy NH and enjoy the winter wonderland (from inside the house, that is).
