NO WAY OUT… a dark poem

Woman Covering Her Face With Brown Scarf

Canvas towers of black paint the horizon

There is no way out

There is no way out

Turrets of stone in windswept hues

There is no way out

There is no way out

A blanket of stars, black as pitch

There is no way out

There is no way out

Suffocating inside this sarcophagus, frozen forever

There is no way out

There is no way out

  1. Wow that IS dark! It reminds me of a nightmare I had years ago where I was adrift in quicksand (too thin to stand on, too thick to swim in) unable to breathe, buried in darkness, and drowning is a profound sadness, wondering why I was there. I think the Lord was giving me a taste of what death would be like to the lost, lest I forget or get lazy about sharing the gospel with them.

    1. Oh, that quicksand that won’t let go… I do understand that so well! Yes! I think we are prepared in so many ways, and to recognize it is in itself a blessing, even if it seems scary! Thank you for stopping by! I hope my creative juices keep flowing… I’ve missed the last few months! Bless you, always!
