Runes… a song

RUNES

The runes of my depression

Lead me straight into the darkness

Scripted words are not my own

I wish that they would go away.

Everywhere I turn

Another word, another letter,

Another symbol of illusion

Casting shadows on my day.

Please, please, please,

Come and find me.

Please, please, please,

Reach out your hand.

Please, please, please,

Erase the troubles

Of this heavy-laden man.

These signs are blurring my perception.

These runes they prickle in my brain.

Please, please, please,

Can you help me?

Before I go insane…

Oh-oh-oh, please?

Oh-oh-oh, please!

Is that the sun on the horizon?

Is this ending of the day?

Where did the time run off and hide?

And did the children get to play?

In my mind’s eye – imagination.

Enchantments written on the walls.

Will there be a consolation,

For this man before he falls?

Please, please, please,

Come and find me.

Please, please, please,

Reach out your hand.

Please, please, please,

Erase the troubles

Of a heavy-laden man.

These signs are blurring my perception.

These runes they prickle in my brain.

Please, please, please,

Can you help me?

Before I go insane…

Oh-oh-oh, please?

Oh-oh-oh, please!

I am caught and I am falling

Into a cesspool of confusion.

Who and what and where can I

Find my way back home.

Is there still time to make amends,

Before my heart and mind explode,

And will I get to say goodbye

Before my time is at the end.

Depressing runes…

Please, please, please,

Come and find me.

Please, please, please,

Reach out your hand.

Please, please, please,

Erase the troubles

Of a heavy-laden man.

These signs are blurring my perception.

These runes they prickle in my brain.

Please, please, please,

Can you help me?

Before I go insane…

Oh-oh-oh, please?

Oh-oh-oh, please!

TESTIFY… a song

Oh, little brother…

You teeter on the edge

Closer to darkness

And in your mind perceiving losses

Can you please reach up and grasp this helping hand?

Don’t keep walking down that highway

To the bridge that leads to nowhere

Engulfing abysses are your shadows

When you traverse that lonely road.

Strength is not a stranger

But your sorrow is a weakness

It will drain your resolution

And the chasm take your soul.

Testify…

Take back your own.

Testify…

A season to grow.

Testify…

And find your pride…

Testify…

Regain your life.

Oh, little sister…

I am so sorry for your troubles

My heart for you is also broken

But you need to find your balance once again.

There are those who really need you

Who are drowning in the loneliness

And the sadness that your broken heart is in.

He is just as lost as you

I wonder if he can pull through

Without the woman who was promised by his side.

I think the same is also true

A woman in a lonely room

And together they can surely win this fight…

Testify…

Take back your own.

Testify…

A season to grow.

Testify…

And find your pride…

Testify…

Regain your life.

Testify…

Take back your own.

Testify…

A season to grow.

Testify…

And find your pride…

Testify…

Regain your life.

Why Are You Crying?… a song

WHY ARE YOU CRYING?

He thought he didn’t matter,

And had no place in this world.

Just a little boy, alone.

His tear-filled eyes all blurred.

She was playing fetch with her doggie,

When the ball rolled by his side.

They had no way of knowing

That their two worlds would collide…

Why are you crying?

Are you okay?

Why are you sitting here all alone?

It’s such a pretty day!

Would you like to be my friend,

And do you want to hold my hand?

Why are you crying?

I don’t understand!

High school was a blur,

And so was college too!

Two lives that collided

Saw a world with skies of blue.

Marriage and careers were had

But missing in their life

The baby that she longed to have

It cut just like a knife.

Why are you crying?

Are you okay?

Why are you sitting here all alone?

It’s such a pretty day?

Would you like to take a walk with me?

And do you want to hold my hand?

Why are you crying?

I want to understand!

He sat there with his head held low

Tears running down his face.

Nothing had prepared him to

Be sitting in this place.

And looking up he saw a nurse

And the baby with blue eyes.

With teardrops of her own

She said, “She may be gone…

But she left you this little life.”

I know you’re crying?

And you’re not okay?

I see you sitting here alone,

I wish I had the words to say.

Would you like to hold your baby now?

And do you want to meet your son?

Why are you crying?

Because his life has just begun…

He thought he didn’t matter,

And had no place in this world…

TITANS

Sardonically, he responded to the teacher.

In trepidation, she returned his gaze.

Dysphoric, was the entire classroom,

As they watched these antagonists on display.

His was a lusus naturae,

And she was providential of marms.

Mistrustful, was his admonition

When she queried the tattoos on his arms.

Meaningless, was his explanation

As he felt he owed her nothing at all.

Permit me at least a panacea,

For the diction, they pose is at fault.

Cynically, he quibbled her judgment,

But alas, in his mind was a light.

Indignation, boiled in the realization

That in this, the teacher was right!

WITH THIS RING

In His name…

I take this vow…

To hold you and to love you

Forevermore… Forevermore…

In His Grace…

I ask of you….

By the love of our Lord and God

Will you always love me too?

And with this ring…

I thee wed…

With this love we share in our hearts

Together til the end…

With this ring

Oh, with this ring

Mmm…mmm…mmm…mmm…

I give you me…

With this ring…

In the blessing of this union

By the preacher standing here

Our hands clasped together

Now together for all our years

The story of our love affair

Shall live for all our lives

Hand in hand – heart in heart

A husband and his wife

And with this ring…

I thee wed…

With this love we share in our hearts

Together til the end…

With this ring

Oh, with this ring

Mmm…mmm…mmm…mmm…

I give you me…

With this ring…

And with this ring…

I thee wed…

With this love we share in our hearts

Together til the end…

With this ring

Oh, with this ring

Mmm…mmm…mmm…mmm…

I give you me…

In His name

I take this vow…

With this ring…

Archipelago of Kwee… a religious poem

In the Archipelago of Kwee

Most fond is my memory.

It was there I listened to God.

No, please don’t think me odd.

Quietly, did I spend my time

While gentle waves cleansed my mind.

Deeper than I’ve ever been

Into my heart, my mind, my sins.

Judgment is not what I found

When upon my knees on the sand was the sound.

The sound of an angel’s wings

Unmistakable that sound from all things.

Gently, as if laid upon hands,

Found the tears flowing from this man.

Release from years of regret

Found me prostrate for which I’ll not forget.

Spiritual was my release

To forgive, forget and to cease.

As the sun set upon that day,

With the tide were my fears swept away.

Now I’m back in the land of the sword

Free to live as a true child of the Lord.
