Sweet, but silly… a song

OH, TOMORROW

I shouldn’t have been at all surprised

I saw the look there in your eyes

And I knew

That you

Were… over… me…

Still it hit me like a ton of bricks

Ain’t life funny the way it picks

The ones

Who we

Fall… in… love…

(up tempo)

Tomorrow….comes

It’s a brand new day

Tomorrow, chase my tears away

Tomorrow, find me a reason to look beyond

My… broken… heart….

Oh, tomorrow

Sing me a brand new song

Tomorrow, don’t make me wait too long

Tomorrow, show me that I can go on

Tomorrow, with…out…her….

Oh, tomorrow

Picking up the pieces

Never hurt this much

Feel just like I could use a crutch

To cope

With all

This…emp…ti…ness…

But I guess it wasn’t meant to be

With eyes that now I can finally see

That you

Were right

And we…will…move…a…long

(up tempo)

Tomorrow….comes

It’s a brand new day

Tomorrow, chase my tears away

Tomorrow, find me a reason to look beyond

My… broken… heart….

Oh, tomorrow

Sing me a brand new song

Tomorrow, don’t make me wait too long

Tomorrow, show me that I can go on

Tomorrow, with…out…her….

Oh, tomorrow

Oh, tomorrow

Sing me a brand new song

Tomorrow, don’t make me wait too long

Tomorrow, show me that I can go on

Tomorrow, with…out…her….

Oh, tomorrow

Uh-uh-uh-uh-oh, tomorrow

Uh-uh-uh-uh-oh, tomorrow

Uh-uh-uh-uh-oh, tomorrow

Uh-oh…….tomorrow

What then… a poem

COMPENDIUM

What vestige would I leave if I left here today?

What would my wife, children and grandchildren say?

If I were I pilot who flew over the world what would be said of my life when unfurled?

How many students would remember my name on the day I retired from vocational fame?

Did I ever get noticed when I took out the trash or mopped the floors after the high school bash?

When I served you your dinner and poured you your wine did you tip me and thank me for being so kind?

How many people on the street corner passed as I held out my hands while my eyes were downcast?

Did you ever thank me for driving the car that safely delivered you home from the bar?

Had I been a doctor or nurse who cared what would be said of the compassion I shared?

When children were born and when we stood over graves did my words matter in the prayers that I prayed?

When I took up arms to defend with my life how did my country treat me after that strife?

No, I’ll never know when comes that day when my final breath has sauntered away.

How can I know if my life made a change in the ways of the world or was I just estranged?

Maybe the answers to this aren’t for me to know before I am cast to the sea.

Before I am buried or put on the shelf my ashes to sit right there by myself.

For in this life I both loved and lost, but more importantly I believed and lived for the Cross!

Uplifting praise… a song

I WILL LIFT MY PRAISE TO THEE

There’s a design that runs so deep

Found within all those who seek

And a truth that’s everlasting to our soul

Inside a heart that’s always true

Ever shining through and through

As a witness to our Lord sent from above

I will lift my praise to Thee

Over mountains over seas

As the waves oh Holy Spirit leads me true

And in the eyes that cast my way

I will teach them here to say

Blessed is the flock of Jesus me and you

Then from on High we learn what’s right

Always seeking out His light

As we glide the path of righteousness and love

Our fellow brothers then will see

How His light shines bright in me

Bringing hope and love and joy into this life

I will lift my praise to Thee

Over mountains over seas

As the waves oh Holy Spirit leads me true

And in the eyes that cast my way

I will teach them here to say

Blessed is the flock of Jesus me and you

Now go into the world with praise

Sunny warm or cold, cold days

And be the beacon that our Lord intends for our lives

For He will always bring you though

Obstacles of doubt won’t live in you

Born again within the name of Jesus Christ

And, I will lift my praise to Thee

Over mountains over seas

As the waves oh Holy Spirit leads me true

And in the eyes that cast my way

I will teach them here to say

Blessed is the flock of Jesus me and you

Yes, I will lift my praise to Thee

Over mountains over seas

As the waves oh Holy Spirit leads me true

And in the eyes that cast my way

I will teach them here to say

Blessed is the flock of Jesus me and you

Sad, slow song… One of my favorites!

MY DYING DAY

Inside…..I’m dying

Inside where you can’t see

Once there was innocence

Once I held the key

Lost and abandoned

Describes the heart in me….

The heart in me…..

If I reach out my hands to you

It’s something that I’m scared to do

Will you turn your back and walk away….mmm…mmm…

When I’m on the jagged edge

Upon the bridge upon the ledge

Will you be there and make it all okay

Or is this finally…. my dying day……..

All the years are crashing in

Suffocating near the end

Where’s the love I had when just a kid

Summer days and ice cold streams

Laughing, loving in my dreams

Suddenly it’s all just gone away….

Suddenly it’s all just gone away-ay-ay….

If I reach out my hands to you

It’s something that I’m scared to do

Will you turn your back and walk away….mmm…mmm…mmm…

When I’m on the jagged edge

Upon the bridge upon the ledge

Will you be there and make it all okay

Or is this finally…. my dying day……..

Lost and abandoned

Describes the heart in me…..

SHAKESPEARE’S TABLE

Tis darkness I see upon the textures delighting beckoned below the fire’s eye

Wispy the tendrils trail higher and higher sensation to pallet yet dry

Fig imprisoned in custard plum pudding, oatcake and teacake meander

Savory nectar teasing, delighting whilst sufferance to quench the bystander

Abducted of foul, scalded and hardened, confined by a woven collective

Flagon of grapes whose tears implored, antiquated and silent, reflective

Wilted the oat, barley and wheat from whence subsistence will bare

Arboreal shedding tiny the foliage hint of honeysuckle filling the air

Appeasing in this a humble-laid lair not fit for king nor queen

Alas, now cometh held high as to heaven marrow and essence of wing

Kid upon stick tumbling aimless in hearthside dripping in sputtering sorrow

Licking up embers dancing displaying the secrets of a quasar’s tomorrow

Yet, lest we not ponder from whence richness descends, not mortals who convey the sword

Submissive the servant to this His creation, knee bent, head bowed, praise the Lord

Delight on high… a poem

AMBROSIA

Just a little bite, a little morsel if you please

Something to pick me up from this surrender and disease

And, yes, I do realize the application here I make

For the morsel, which I behest is not meant for mortal’s sake

Through the generations were the stories often told

Of those who ate upon the food and walked on streets of gold

But here am I upon a land of solid rock and ground

Sweeping past the entrance of the devil and his hound

Crumbs would be a welcome sight tumbling down from on high

Collected in fields of buttercups and on wings of butterfly

Bold is it for a simple man to query such a deed

Insomuch to save his life, his soul, his path, his plea

What answer may await a fool such of this to even ask

Pretending he is of a station while cloaked behind a mask

Life-giving and a glory for all who are deserved

Yet here am I in restless struggle beaten and unnerved

Oh well, ‘twas worth the effort in this a hopeless quest

A game to lose as Dante in his final act of wrest

Faith from death… a Christian song

ROCK UPON THE DOOR

There was a stone…

Rolled there to hide…

It was intended to keep Him

There inside…

Hid from all the world…

Within was He…

The one who died upon the cross

So we could all be free…

The Lord did bless

From up on High

Sent Jesus here into this world

He sent Him here to live and die

Forgave our sins

Cleansed all that day

Not in death or rock upon that door

Could keep our God away

And we rejoice

In what God wrought

Sinners, unbelievers too

Found in the words He taught

Our brother’s love

Commands are clear

Disabled, blind and deaf that day

For everyone to hear

The Lord did bless

From up on High

Sent Jesus here into this world

He sent Him here to live and die

Forgave our sins

Cleansed all that day

Not in death or rock upon that door

Could keep our God away

Now go in peace

And live the Word

Give unto until there’s naught to give

Be blessed in your rebirth

For evermore

Live life that way

Be a witness to the Living God

Today and everyday

The Lord did bless

From up on High

Sent Jesus here into this world

He sent Him here to live and die

Forgave our sins

Cleansed all that day

Not in death or rock upon that door

Could keep our God away

The Lord did bless

From up on High

Sent Jesus here into this world

He sent Him here to live and die

Forgave our sins

Cleansed all that day

Not in death or rock upon that door

Could keep our God away
