LIMBO…#NaPoWriMo2019

Limbo came to haunt my dreams

In iridescent blues and greens

Tiny lightning strikes my synapses

Holding me hostage

Convoluted climaxes

###################

Escape, futile while chained in place

Bogging down further during the race

The ball is heavy

The weight stays still

Thoroughly testing all my will

####################

Reflection I see in the mirror of time

Contorted and strained is every line

My voice is silent

I try to yell

Never shall I elude this hell

#####################

Breaking point, I shall not die

Some glimmer of hope touches my eye

I’m still here

Upon my bed

No longer asleep to wake up dead

THE OLD MAN…#NaPoWriMo2019 Day 4

I once questioned a frail, old man

What made him think he was right?

He looked at me with a twinkle in his eyes

And said, “Well, sleep on it tonight.”

I pondered his words and then my own

What was it he thought would come?

When morning arrived, I conceded the point

For in his words I found wisdom.

No one took him seriously

No, they didn’t think him right

Something was amiss with him

With gun and hat and knife

But he would be the hero

When they saw just what he did

Taking down the robber, yep
