When The Good Lord Brings Me Home… a Christian song

Sun v2

WHEN THE GOOD LORD BRINGS ME HOME

When the good Lord brings me home,

Will I have words to say?

When the good Lord brings me home,

Don’t cry for me…

When the good Lord brings me home,

Shout loudly, Hall-e-luiah!

When the good Lord brings me home,

I will finally see…

Jesus promised…

And I followed…

Jesus said…

And I obeyed…

Jesus gave hope for tomorrow…

Jesus is our hope today…

He gave life and resurrection,

He gave His for you and me,

Jesus answered all our questions…

Assured for us eternity…

When the good Lord brings me home,

There will be cel-e-bration.

When the good Lord brings me home,

I’ll get a pair-of-wings.

When the good Lord brings me home,

Shout loudly, Hall-e-luiah!

When the good Lord brings me home,

I hope the angel sings…

Jesus promised…

And I followed…

Jesus said…

And I obeyed…

Jesus gave hope for tomorrow…

Jesus is our hope today…

He gave life and resurrection,

He gave His for you and me,

Jesus answered all our questions…

Assured for us eternity…

Sing Halleluiah, Jesus saves…

Halleluiah, Jesus saves…

Halleluiah, Jesus gave…

Halleluiah, Jesus saves…

Halleluiah, Jesus lives…

In all that our Savior gives…

Halleluiah, Halleluiah,

Halleluiah, Ah-amen…

Halleluiah, Ah-amen…

Gremlins… a short story

Sinuses

GREMLINS

Gremlins don’t only attack airplanes and computers.  These clever, vicious, little (insert colorful language) metamorphosed over the years to also include the human body as their playground.  How do I know this you may ask?  Simple, some of these little (insert colorful language) have taken up shop in my sinuses.  Alas, thinking that I knew better and could outwit and outlast the destructive, little (insert colorful language) I played the wait-and-see game.  Well, Gremlins – 4 – Kevin – 0 – and suffering.

Not to be outmatched completely I have come to my senses, now that my voice sounds like John Wayne, and sought reinforcements.  Yes, I made an appointment to see my doctor.  In his wisdom and experience with these little (insert colorful language) I will soon be on the offensive, and my nemesis shall not be long for this world.

Wish me luck!

Walrus Tears… a poem

WALRUS TEARS

Sinful are the walrus tears,

Oh, shed no, not for me.

For ours are lost across the years

Forever in austerity.

Wayward looms the titan tracks

Of lost the sea bound witch.

Plummeting evermore she falls

Birthed again, or flitch?

Tassels gently sway in the dance,

Upon a wind born eve.

Subtle, down below a snail

Scribes his testament to those who grieve.

Distant drifts the night’s last star,

Soothsayer to all below her.

Assuage the squandered, hopeless prey,

In this, they find their plunder.

Broken Hearts…a song

Broken heart v1

BROKEN HEARTS

If I said come home would you listen

If I said don’t go would you stay

Like the sea in the sun how it glistens

So, like my heart in your hands, it is clay

Where did we go wrong on this journey

Where did we go wrong in our walk

When I said I do ‘twas forever

If I promise to… will you talk

Broken hearts, broken hearts…

Sometimes they fail

It’s a sad, sad story, but it’s true

Broken hearts, broken hearts

Let me say right now… I love you

Broken hearts, broken hearts

And I hope that you still love me too

Broken hearts…

Happiness is just a stone’s throw away now

Heartache is a knocking at the door

Do we work it out like we ought to

Do we just give up… nevermore

And what will we tell our sweet children

It’s their hearts that we need to protect

From the pain of not living together

Of the pain that is causing this wreck

Broken hearts, broken hearts…

Sometimes they fail

It’s a sad, sad story, but it’s true

Broken hearts, broken hearts

Let me say right now… I love you

Broken hearts, broken hearts

And I hope that you still love me too

Broken hearts…

So before you make that decision

Please consider everything that we’ve got

All through years and the tears we were happy

Don’t forget if you untie that knot

We may have drifted

And we may have lost sight

Of what really matters

Can we sleep on it tonight

Broken hearts, broken hearts…

Sometimes they fail

It’s a sad, sad story, but it’s true

Broken hearts, broken hearts

Let me say right now… I love you

Broken hearts, broken hearts

And I hope that you still love me too

Broken ha-ah-ah-arts…

Broken ha-ah-ah-arts…

Broken hearts….

Island Blues… a silly, fun song

ISLAND BLUES

I woke up this morning

Face down in the sand

Don’t remember a thing

And I can’t feel my hand

As my eyes came in focus

Much to my surprise

Was a crab staring back

With two stalking eyes

Well I couldn’t move

And my head was in pain

With a crab staring at me

Then he called me by name….

He said:

Hey Bubba this must be your first time

To come to the islands and wake up half blind

Yeah, I been watching you since the sun did rise

And by the green look of you and your bloodshot eyes

You must have had one hell of a night

Too much rum….am I guessing you right?

I’m sure your buddies are around here too

Because your lack of clothes is a give-away dude

Now maybe I’m dreaming

But I can hardly see

And there sits a crab

Just a talking to me

And I remember just a little

Last night at the bar

Tequila, and rum and some bomb with a car

But I cannot for the life of me

Hey wait a minute I can’t feel my feet

Is that a tingle down around my toes

And what the hell just crawled up my nose

And then I heard again:

Hey Bubba this must be your first time

To come to the islands and wake up half blind

Yeah, I been watching you since the sun did rise

And by the green look of you and your bloodshot eyes

You must have had one hell of a night

Too much rum….am I guessing you right?

I’m sure your buddies are around here too

Because your lack of clothes is a give-away dude

Now my ears are ringing

And I’m feeling kind of sick

I got sand in my teeth

And my tongue is real thick

And I guess I might be

Going crazy too

Cause my crab friend just turned a shade blue

I’ve never been hung over quite this bad

Maybe a beer will help me just a tad

Is there feeling coming back to me

Or is that cold water coming from the sea

Then to my ear…

Hey Bubba this must be your first time

To come to the islands and wake up half blind

Yeah, I been watching you since the sun did rise

And by the green look of you and your bloodshot eyes

You must have had one hell of a night

Too much rum….am I guessing you right?

I’m sure your buddies are around here too

Because your lack of clothes is a give-away dude

Guarded Words…a poem

GUARDED WORDS

Tread softly with your whisper.

Be gentle with your voice.

A breeze becomes a hurricane,

And in your words, you have a choice.

Do strings control the puppets?

Is there nothing they can do?

Within us is a candle.

Is your light shining true?

Loose bricks weaken the structure.

As do words when spake in hate.

Grow strong through humbled nature.

Never destroy!  Only create!

Give notice to your demons.

Remove their arrogance from speech.

Maintain the good within, always.

It is forever within reach.

Live Before You Die… an inspirational song

LIVE BEFORE YOU DIE

When that train pulls into the station, boy

You better get onboard.

Before the plane ever leaves the ground

Lift prayers up to the Lord.

We can never when our time will come

So, don’t let life pass you by.

Take a chance on a broken heart

And live before you die.

Live…before you die…

Live, live, live and give this life a try…

Count your blessings

Count your friends

They’re all part of your life.

So, live, live, live my friend

Yeah, live before you die.

She wasn’t really in the fight

Her mind just wasn’t there.

What was missing from her life,

This battle with despair.

But somewhere hiding down inside her

Dying to get out.

Reigning down from Heaven’s doors

Like water from a spout.

Live…before you die…

Live, live, live and give this life a try…

Count your blessings

Count your friends

They’re all part of your life.

So, live, live, live my friend

Yeah, live before you die.

We can all succeed together

That’s the way it’s supposed to be.

Hand in hand, arm in arm

And even cheek to cheek.

There never was a better time

To live a better life.

So, live, live, live my friend

Yeah, live before you die.

Live…before you die…

Live, live, live and give this life a try…

Count your blessings

Count your friends

They’re all part of your life.

So, live, live, live my friend

Yeah, live before you die.

So, live, live, live my friend

Yeah, live before you die…
