MY GOD – MY LIFE… a poem of faith

black stone on shoreline

The little ripples of the waves

That wash right over me

Can’t take away the pain

Can’t make me whole again

The little light reflecting diamonds

That dance upon this sea

Only blind me… Hmm

And if I walk out further

Maybe I can finally find

The happiness, contentedness

That’s absent from my mind

If only there was someone who

Would reach out and take my hand

Then I could start to live my life

As a complacent man

Mmm, mmm….

Then suddenly the water’s gone

And right in front of me

A light so bright and brilliant

That I can hardly see

When someone reaches out

And takes me by my hand

Next thing I know my heart is filled

Now I can barely stand

He calmed the seas

He gave me sight

He healed my wounds

My God – my life

JAR… a poem of faith

red and white labeled jar on brown wooden table

Blinking up at the stars I see

What is right in front of me

A billion reasons like grains of sand

Painted by the Father’s hand

Reflected in the perfect light

Though I may doubt He got it right

Make no mistake of who you are

God dipped you from His favorite jar

YOU GOT THIS… inspiration

brown dried leaves on sand

That hesitation that prevents us from moving forward

Will be the same hesitation that gets blamed for our unwanted predicament.

If we listen to our heart more

We will see the rewards of doing what God has nudged us to do,

Or we may fall into the arms of only seeing the failures.

Growth comes in many forms

And failure is one of them.

Stop, reflect, pray and move on.

You got this!

MY MUSE… a poem

green-leafed plant

Muse, oh muse

Where have you gone?

You’ve taken my poetry,

and you’ve taken my song.

We use to be close

In love every day

But in the blink of an eye

You just went away.

I hope that you come back

To me with a smile.

And say, “Hello baby!

It’s been quite a while!”

And I hope you bring with you

Poetry of love

Of humor and drama

And inspiration from above.

But until you return

I will still miss you so.

My fingers are ready

When you’re ready to go!

WEIGHT… a poem

The weight we carry

In the belly

In the thighs

Cannot hide the weight we carry

Deep, deep down inside

Alone, Sad, Depression, Loneliness

…………………………

Perhaps, there on the outside

They say, “You’re looking tight!”

If they only knew

What’s on your heart

They might hold you through the night

Dog, Snow, Joy, Winter, Fun, Friend

……………………………

But, lest it be forgotten

There is One who carried more

He will stem the tide

On this difficult ride

And shoulder the weight that you once bore

Love, Jesus, Prophet, Holy Man, Christ
